Bestival Set for Duran Duran Premiere

BESTIVAL fans will be the first in the world to hear Duran Duran's new album live, the band revealed in an interview with Rob da Bank.

Bestival boss Rob da Bank sat down to interview Duran Duran co-founder John Taylor at his Hollywood home ahead of the band's headline set at this month's festival on the Isle of Wight.

The BBC Radio 6 Music DJ says in the video he "plugged away at [the band] for years" trying to book them.

Duran Duran's new album Paper Gods, set for release on September 11, has been produced by last year's Bestival headliner, disco maestro Nile Rodgers.

"It's the first show anywhere where the album is going to be showcased," John told Rob.

John also hinted there could be a link up with Nile Rodgers, who has been working with the band on new material, having also produced their 1986 hit Notorious – a favourite during Nile's own recent Bestival shows.

Bestival will also be headlined by Missy Elliott and The Chemical Brothers, and takes place 10 to 13 September at Robin Hill.
