Were you always interested in music or did you have other passions as a child?
MY PASSION FOR MUSIC BEGAN THE FIRST TIME I SAW CHRISTIE BRINKLEY IN BILLY JOEL’S VIDEO “UPTOWN GIRL.” I WAS HOOKED. THRU THAT, I REALIZE THE FASCINATNG WORLD OF MUSIC, GLAMOUR AND FASHION, AND HOW THEY ARE ALL RELATED.
How did you become a promoter?
SINCE I BECAME A FAN OF DURAN DURAN, I DREAMED OF BEING MORE THAN A SPECTATOR AT ONE OF THEIR CONCERTS. I REALIZED THAT IN ORDER TO BRING THEM TO THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, I NEEDED TO DO SOMETHING FIRST TO SHOW THEM I WAS SERIOUS. SO I STARTED TO PROMOTE SMALLER ACTS AND CONCERTS IN ORDER TO PROVE MYSELF AS A PROMOTER. FINALLY 9 YEARS LATER MY DREAM CAME TRUE.
What exactly does a Promoter do?
A PROMOTER HANDLES THE NEEDS OF THE ARTISTS, THE VENUE, THE FANS… AND MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS HAPPY.
What was your impression of Duran Duran when you first met them?
MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS THEY WERE ALL ROCK STARS IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD. AS TIME PASSES, AND MY RELATIONSHIP WITH THEM GROWS DEEPER, I CAN HONESTLY SAY THEY ARE ALL WONDERFUL PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEIR FAMILIES AND MUSIC. AND GREAT FRIENDS !!!!
If you could work with any other artist beside Duran Duran, who would it be?
I HAVE WORK WITH SEVERAL OTHERS, BUT MY OTHER DESIRE WAS TO HAVE A BARRY WHITE CONCERT, AND SADLY HE IS NO LONGER WITH US.
