Inspired by Diego?

Ask Katy

Hi Katy, I was wondering why Duran Duran seemed to be into images from Diego Rivera around the time of the "Thank You," album. The image, La Catrina is used in the White Lines video and in the Perfect Day video. I put a link to the White Lines video on my Facebook Wall and it got me to thinking/wondering. Thanks for any info you can share! Sincerely, Lori

"“Whilst I do like some of Diego Rivera’s paintings, I have to confess I am more partial to Frida Kahlo’s work from that period. I am not entirely sure why we used that style of imagery at that time, but imagine Nick Egan, video director, probably took his cue from the album packaging. NR”
