BELFAST TELEGRAPH: Fans love the band's down to earth style

THEY may have been the biggest pop band on planet earth during the 1980s, but Duran Duran still haven't forgotten who helped put them there.

Fans of the band, who hung around the back of the Odyssey Arena last week hoping to catch a glimpse of their idols, were delighted when the pop stars came over to say hello and sign autographs.

Simon le Bon, John Taylor and co asked several fans what they'd thought of the gig as they signed photographs, album covers and random pieces of paper.

The band members then headed back to their base at Ten Square.

Pop veterans Duran Duran continued their UK comeback tour with a concert at Wembley Arena on Tuesday. Fans packed the London venue to hear Simon Le Bon, Roger Taylor, Andy Taylor, John Taylor, and Nick Rhodes.

The band, who shot to fame in the 1980s with songs like Wild Boys, are touring this month in their first UK tour together for 18 years.

The New Romantic stars, honoured at this year's Brits, kicked off the tour at the Nottingham Arena on Sunday.

The band's original five members are to play at a string of other cities this month in their first UK tour together for 18 years.

Pop legends Duran Duran reunited to play for a London audience as part of their long-awaited UK comeback tour.

Fans packed Wembley Arena last night to hear frontman Simon Le Bon, drummer Roger Taylor, guitarist Andy Taylor, bassist John Taylor, and keyboard player Nick Rhodes.

The band’s original five members are to play at a string of other cities this month in their first UK tour together for 18 years.

Earlier this year the New Romantic stars were honoured with the Outstanding Contribution award at the Brits.

Duran Duran played a one-off homecoming gig at London’s Forum in October and toured the US last year.

The band were at the height of their fame in the mid-1980s, when they notched up a series of hits which included Is There Something I Should Know?, Hungry Like A Wolf and Wild Boys.
