blue silver? ADDENDUM

Ask Katy

Hi, Katy --I can't tell you how excited I am that the band has signed a record deal and have announced a date for the new album's release. After over 20 years of loving the band, I FINALLY got to see them (twice) on the 2003 US tour. What memories - to finally see Nick and the others live on stage - times I will NEVER forget! Anyway, a few weekends ago, a couple of girlfriends and I had a DD sleepover. We watched stuff on an old VHS tape, mostly from MTV and USA's "Night Flights" in 1984. We ran across one of MTV's showings of
"Sing Blue Silver". We noticed that the MTV was promoting it as "Blue Silver" and couldn't believe they were calling it the wrong name. We fast forwarded through it, because we watched it on DVD, and the closing credits also showed "Blue Silver". Was the original name of SBS, just BS. If so, why was it changed? I have some theories but thought I'd go straight to the expert(s).Thanks, and we can't wait for another US (east coast) tour!Crystal (aka DarkCircle)

THIS HAS THE WHOLE BAND PRETTY CONFUSED TOO. THE BOOK BY DENNIS O'REGAN & ORIGINAL VHS WAS CALLED "SING BLUE SILVER". NO ONE IS CLEAR ON WHEN OR WHY IT CHANGED FOR MTV.

AFTER THIS WAS POSTED, MANY FANS POINTED OUT THE OBVIOUS - WHAT RAN ON MTV (AND OTHER MUSIC CHANNELS) WAS 60 MINUTES, WHEREAS THE VIDEOTAPE SOLD IN SHOPS WAS 90 MINUTES LONG. THEREFORE, THE ABBREVIATED TITLE WAS CHOSEN TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN THE 60 AND 90 MINUTE VERSIONS.
